Stone & Oak Publishing LLC respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you visit stoneandoakpublishing.com or correspond with us, and what we do with it.
We aim to keep this simple. We do not run advertising networks, track you across the web, or sell your information to third parties. We are a small independent publisher, and the only data we collect is what we need to do business with you.
What we collect
Newsletter signups. When you subscribe to our newsletter through the form on this site, we collect your email address. That data is stored by our email service provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit). We use it to send you news about new releases and the press — no more than 4 to 6 times a year. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
Business correspondence. If you email us at orders@stoneandoakpublishing.com, partnerships@stoneandoakpublishing.com, or any other Stone & Oak email address, we keep those messages and your email address to respond and to maintain records of business communications.
Server logs. Our website host (Namecheap) automatically logs visitor IP addresses and browser information as part of standard web operations. We do not actively review or use this data for marketing.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising pixels (Facebook, Google, or otherwise)
- We do not use analytics tools that track individual users
- We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone
- We do not use cookies for marketing or tracking purposes
How we use your information
We use your email address only to:
- Send the occasional newsletter you signed up for
- Respond to inquiries you sent us
- Process bulk book orders if you placed one
That's it.
Third parties
We share data with these service providers only as needed to operate:
- Kit (kit.com) — Stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails
- Namecheap (namecheap.com) — Hosts our website and email
- IngramSpark — Fulfills retail and wholesale book orders
- Amazon and Barnes & Noble — Sell our books directly to readers (we never see customer email addresses from these channels)
Each of these has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Your rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email
- Request deletion of your information by emailing orders@stoneandoakpublishing.com
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you by emailing the same address
We will respond to such requests within 30 days.
Children
Our books are made for children, but our website and email list are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes meaningfully, we will update the date at the top of this page. For substantive changes, we will email subscribers to let them know.
